These terms apply alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
These Vendor Terms govern how vendors and service providers ("vendors", "providers", "you") participate in Farewell Shop, the vendor directory and coordination layer of Farewell Pages. They apply alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
What Farewell Shop is today: a vendor discovery and display directory, a request, inquiry, and quote tool, a planning list, and a vendor application and onboarding system. It is a foundation for future commerce features. It is not yet a checkout marketplace. Families browse, compare, and contact vendors through Farewell Pages; the actual transaction happens directly between the family and the vendor.
1. Vendor relationship
You are an independent business. Nothing in these terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship between you and Farewell Pages. Farewell Pages operates a platform: a directory, coordination, and introduction tool that helps families discover and contact providers like you.
You are solely responsible for your own products, services, licences and permits, staff, taxes, delivery, pricing, refunds, and every promise you make to a customer.
2. No platform checkout in the current model
Farewell Pages currently helps customers discover and contact vendors. Unless and until platform checkout is explicitly enabled and you have accepted the additional terms that come with it, all payments happen directly between the customer and you. Farewell Pages does not collect, hold, process, or forward payment for your goods or services in the current model.
Because the transaction is yours, you must clearly communicate your price, scope of work, delivery arrangements, cancellation policy, refund policy, and contact details to the customer before any money changes hands.
3. Direct vendor–buyer transactions
Every purchase, booking, payment, delivery, fulfilment, cancellation, refund, receipt, and service agreement is between you and the buyer. Farewell Pages may provide the introduction, the listing, the quote tool, the planning list, messaging, or the request workflow — but Farewell Pages is not the seller of your goods or services, is not the merchant of record, does not hold funds in escrow, and does not process payments between you and the customer.
Farewell Pages does not guarantee that a vendor will deliver, and does not guarantee that a customer will pay. You remain responsible for fulfilling whatever you promise a family, exactly as you promised it.
4. No misrepresentation
You may not state or imply that Farewell Pages guarantees, underwrites, insures, or stands behind your work unless we have expressly stated so in writing. You may not describe yourself as an official, exclusive, verified, licensed, or endorsed Farewell Pages partner unless we have approved that description. Any verification badge or status shown on the platform is applied by us and may not be reproduced or claimed elsewhere without approval.
5. Vendor eligibility and verification
To be listed, you may be asked to provide and keep current:
- business and contact details, including registration information;
- the areas you serve;
- your product and service categories;
- licences and permits, where your trade requires them;
- portfolio material and photographs of your actual work.
Farewell Pages may approve, reject, pause, or remove any vendor at its discretion, and may re-verify details at any time.
6. Listings and product or service display
Your listings must be accurate: descriptions, photos, prices or price ranges, availability, delivery areas, and conditions must reflect what you actually offer. Misleading photos, fake discounts, hidden fees, and false availability are prohibited.
If your final price depends on distance, quantity, urgency, customisation, delivery, labour, or setup, your listing or quote must disclose that clearly, so a family is never surprised by the final amount.
7. Family-sensitive conduct
You are serving people on some of the hardest days of their lives. You must treat grieving families with respect and patience at all times. The following are strictly prohibited: pressure selling, harassment, excessive or repeated contact, emotional manipulation, and sharing a family’s or event’s information publicly without their permission.
8. Customer data and privacy
Customer details you receive through Farewell Pages may be used only to respond to that inquiry or to fulfil the service the customer agreed with you. You may not sell or share customer data, add customers to marketing lists, or contact them about unrelated matters without their explicit consent.
9. Communication and quote handling
Respond to inquiries promptly — families are often working against fixed ceremony dates. Quotes should state clearly what is included and what is excluded. If anything material changes — price, scope, timing, or what is delivered — confirm the change with the customer in writing before proceeding.
10. Payments, refunds, and disputes under the current model
Because payment currently flows directly from buyer to vendor, you handle payment confirmation, receipts, refunds, chargebacks, delivery issues, and customer disputes — unless and until Farewell Pages enables platform checkout under separate terms.
Farewell Pages may still receive complaints about vendors and may suspend or remove vendors based on quality, fraud, safety, privacy, or trust concerns. Farewell Pages may, at its option, help mediate a dispute — but doing so does not make Farewell Pages a party to, or responsible for, your transaction.
11. Platform fees and future monetisation
No vendor fees are currently active. If Farewell Pages later introduces a vendor subscription, listing fee, lead fee, commission, coordination fee, checkout fee, or promoted-placement fee, those fees will be clearly shown and must be separately accepted by you — either individually or through an updated vendor agreement — before they apply to you.
12. Ratings and reviews — bona fide customers only
Only verified, bona fide customers may leave ratings or reviews. A bona fide customer is someone who:
- requested the vendor through Farewell Pages;
- was connected to the vendor through Farewell Pages;
- had a confirmed quote, booking, purchase, delivery, service, or documented interaction with the vendor; or
- is otherwise verified by Farewell Pages as having used or engaged the vendor.
Vendors must not:
- create fake reviews, or arrange reviews from people who are not bona fide customers;
- pressure customers to leave only positive reviews;
- retaliate against a customer for an honest review.
Farewell Pages may remove any review that is fake, abusive, irrelevant, not from a bona fide customer, manipulated, discriminatory, threatening, or not based on a genuine interaction. Vendors may respond to reviews professionally. Ratings are not displayed as public trust scores unless the underlying customer relationship is verified.
13. Vendor suspension and removal
Farewell Pages may pause, hide, restrict, or remove a vendor listing — with or without notice — for false information, customer complaints, privacy violations, poor service, misconduct, illegal services, unsafe behaviour, fake reviews, or any concern affecting the trust and safety of families using the platform.
14. Prohibited conduct and products
The following have no place on Farewell Shop:
- illegal goods or services;
- fraudulent or misleading goods;
- unsafe or unlicensed services where a licence is required;
- offensive or exploitative conduct;
- anything that exploits grieving families.
15. Future checkout and payment features
Farewell Pages may later activate platform checkout, escrow, deposits, commissions, in-platform payments, or order management. If and when that happens, those features will come with their own updated payment terms, and you may be required to accept them before using those features. Nothing in these terms activates any such feature today.
16. Acceptance
You accept these Vendor Terms by applying to be listed, submitting a vendor profile, listing a product or service, responding to inquiries received through the platform, or using any vendor tool on Farewell Pages. If you do not agree, do not apply and do not use the vendor tools.
