It is with deep sorrow and thanksgiving to God that the family of Elizabeth Nyokabi Mwangi announces her peaceful passing on the morning of 2 June 2026 at her home in Ihururu, Nyeri, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Born on 14 March 1948, Mama Nyokabi served as a teacher for thirty-four years, raised four children with her late husband Mwangi Gichohi, and gave more than five decades of service to PCEA Kagumo Church and the Ihururu community. The funeral service will be held on Saturday 13 June 2026 at PCEA Kagumo Church, followed by burial at the family home in Ihururu. The family thanks everyone for the love, prayers, and support received during this time.

Funeral home

Greenhill Funeral Home, Nyeri (sample venue) — family viewing Friday 12 June, 10:00 AM–12:00 PM.

Church

PCEA Kagumo Church, Nyeri — arrive by 9:30 AM on Saturday 13 June; overflow tent with screens on the grounds.

Burial site

Family home, Ihururu, Nyeri — graveside seating reserved for elders; tents for all guests.

Transport & convoy

Nairobi buses depart Ngara (sample stage) 6:30 AM sharp — register at the committee desk. Convoy departs the funeral home 7:30 AM; hazard lights on; follow the marshals.

Parking

Church parking from 8:30 AM with marshals; overflow at the school field. At the home, use the field below the homestead.

Accommodation

Guests from afar may contact the welfare desk for a list of sample guesthouses in Nyeri town; the family can advise on group rates.

Catering

Hospitality committee serves lunch at the home after the burial — three serving stations; elders and guests with mobility needs served seated.

Sunday school teachers host a supervised children’s corner at the home; a first-aid volunteer is on site for the funeral day.
